Google Analytics
Google Analytics (GA4) is a free web analytics service by Google that tracks and reports website traffic, user behavior, engagement metrics, and conversion events.
GA4 (Google Analytics 4) replaced Universal Analytics in July 2023. It uses an event-based model where every interaction (pageview, scroll, click, form submission) is an event. Key metrics for SEO: sessions by source, engagement rate, pages per session, and conversion rate from organic traffic.
For SEO analysis, the most valuable GA4 reports are: Traffic Acquisition (organic search vs other channels), Landing Pages (which pages attract organic traffic), Engagement (bounce rate, session duration by landing page), and Conversions (which organic keywords drive business results).
Privacy considerations: GA4 is banned in several EU countries. Alternatives like Plausible, Fathom, and Vercel Analytics are privacy-friendly and often simpler. Indxel's dashboard uses Vercel Analytics and SpeedInsights for privacy-compliant performance monitoring.
