Rich Snippet
A rich snippet is an enhanced search result that displays additional information beyond the standard title, URL, and description — such as star ratings, prices, FAQs, or event dates — powered by structured data.
Rich snippets stand out visually in search results and typically have higher click-through rates than standard results. They are generated from structured data (JSON-LD) on your page.
Common rich snippet types for developer tools: FAQ (FAQPage schema), How-To (HowTo schema), Breadcrumbs (BreadcrumbList schema), Software Application (SoftwareApplication schema), and Article (Article schema).
Test your structured data with Google's Rich Results Test to verify eligibility. Not all structured data qualifies for rich snippets — Google selects them algorithmically. Having valid markup is necessary but not sufficient.
